We Want to Hear From You

One of the most encouraging things to come out of our recent U.S. Senate conversation has been the discussion that followed.

People have disagreed. They've challenged one another. They've shared thoughtful perspectives from across the political spectrum.

That's exactly the kind of civic engagement we hope to encourage.

So we'd like to open our platform to you.

Turn South Dakota Purple is now accepting guest opinion submissions for consideration on our website.

Whether you want to write about the U.S. Senate race, state politics, local government, an issue you care deeply about, or the future of civic life in South Dakota, we'd love to read your work.

Submission Guidelines

  • Maximum 500 words

  • Submissions should be grounded in facts. When making factual claims that are not widely known or are likely to be disputed, please include sources so readers can evaluate them for themselves.

  • Write respectfully. We welcome disagreement, but not personal attacks.

  • Include a recent photo of yourself and a short biography (50-100 words).

  • Please disclose any campaign, party, or organizational affiliations that are relevant to your submission.

Publication and Editorial Discretion

Submission does not guarantee publication. Turn South Dakota Purple reserves editorial discretion in selecting guest opinions for publication and may edit submissions for grammar, clarity, length, and style. We will communicate with authors before making substantive edits. By submitting your work, you grant Turn South Dakota Purple permission to publish and promote your submission, author biography, and submitted photo on our website, social media channels, and other TSDP platforms.

Guest opinions (South Dakota Voices Series) reflect the views of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of Turn South Dakota Purple.

Please send submissions to:

turnsdpurple@gmail.com

Our goal has never been to tell South Dakotans what to think.

It's to create more opportunities for thoughtful people to think together.

We look forward to hearing your voice.
